 DAD'S LAST WORDS

(By: Karla Wagener)

I'm walking in darkness
Feeling much pain
Needing redemption
Can't ever be the same.

The past wants to haunt me.
I brush it away.
"Remember the good"...
Healing what's gone astray.

Dad said, "You can't change the past",
But with compassion and forgiveness
Healing can take over at the last.

Need not mention charm and grace
Looking forward with firmness
and Walking on quite steadfast!

 SILENCE

What does it say when we reach out to tomorrow?
Where do we go when what rules is pain?
Who are we but lost souls
Searching for roads of hope.
Searching for a way to go.

There is no answer.
Yet the way is clear.

My heart has all the answers.
With you all future is near.

So simple is the answer
To all who do philosophy
Yet so few hear it, love,
And how shall I...
And why should I?

What is said when reaching
For tomorrow...
