HAPPY MOTHER´S DAY, 2021

PAT

She loved geraniums, healing aloe, 

all plants and flowers.

Used to pray for everyone, everything

for hours and hours.

Had a special love of antiques, crafts

and humming birds.

She liked to share a drink

Liked to have fun,

Frowned upon excesses or abuses 

which she would shun.

Was so brave against Cancer

But couldn´t be cured.

Humbly died as I held her hand

Without a whimper or cry.

Deep inside she was so very tender.

Till some days when anguish boiled over…

A woman of faith.

Funny witty and bright,

To the point, with few words, 

she would set us all right.

Attempting to give always a good example.

In spite of Wars, economic hardships,

Insurmountable problems, or Old age…

She fought inner devils

So that others could be free,

Named after a Patron Saint 

to whom she could plea.

A so sick, violent world called her insane.

We called her Mom!
