It's not that I'm waking up
At this hopeless hour
To escape from haunting dreams.
It may seem so, but no,
I am anticipating the sunrise
Which I rarely get to see
With all it's awesome colors,
And, of course, green!
We need to see the sunrise more often,
Visualizing in it greens,
So as to rebuild hope
And give comfort,
Helping us to understand our dreams.
Or contemplate the multitudes
Of shades of green
Along the river's banks
Yellow green, blue green, dark, light, shimmering green, green almost white.
Surely the union of
Molecules that replicate into life
From cold minerals
Is acquired only with a color
A color of green
Time to be thusly seen
Built from hope.
