ROOTS -
ROUTES
En una crucijada,
esperando otra celebración...(si no entienden el ingles, busquen ayuda...) Yo
espero Pentecostés!!!
(While we're on a crossroad, waiting
for another celebration. I anticipate Pentecost!
Mi
My sister, Mary, responded to a mail about "shoes" with something Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and life. No one gets to the father except through me". And thinking about the two books I am reading, one by a German monk, named Anselmo, and another by a Cuban, named Retamar...and considering that my father and Aunt Regina be able to understand this (not to mention the pope!)...

Waiting for the miracles...
Not seeing all those great things
That routine and everyday life brings...
Your mischievous, loving smile,
To talk and chat awhile,
The happiness of a gift received,
Power in the faith of all that is believed.
Deep within, a connection,
A positive election,
Soft words spoken sincerely,
A promise understood, oh, so clearly.
Walkin' in the rain...
Sweet consolation for those in great pain...
Holding a child's hand,
Living bountifully from the land...
A song of hope and of love,
A solution with grace,
Seeing eternity in each person's face...
(piano) waiting for miracles...
Communion, moments of heaven,
In need, times of bread unleavened...
(piano) Expecting miracles…
In desert, water available in the drought...
In winter cold and stormy
With faith, we faced, and face, what life has brought!

PADRE "NUESTRO" “THE LORD’S PRAYER
This all reminds me of something one of my
therapists once asked, “why do you always fall in love with people who are
altruistic?"
I believe that many of the people who write or do art
are altruistic because the pen (and Art) is often the sword of the
non-violent. There is a need of more altruistic people with so many problems
in the World now. I am proud of my nephew, Jeremy, who has made a
documentary about the gas problem, my niece, Bree Anne, who I just received a
graduation announcement from. She has a "bachelor of arts in
geography with an emphasis in environmental work". Also, my son passed his test in pathology, and my daughter, is doing
well in her studies. There are many young people who are striving to make
things better!
I believe in humanity. I believe there are many
altruistic people in every country of the world. Perhaps we need to hear
more about these individuals because humanity is a species that imitates.
The other day my husband said to me, "I don't
like your God". I thought about it and since I believe God is
greater than humanity or any institution, I realized that my conception of God
was very human, limited, and I need to open up to a greater God, and to what
God can do!
Altruism gyrates on a fine line at times. In
our attempts to love and please others, abuse or manipulation is not permissible,
or that our rights are violated is not correct either.
I believe a daily balancing must take place. Each
situation is particular and it is important to discern these
situations. For this reason, I believe prayer and analysis are so
important. Like Saint Paul, I believe that the Spirit (or what
psychologists call the unconscious, the interior, deeper part of us) works and
pleads beyond us and that it is necessary to connect with this energy.
Anselmo talks about "roots" and a similar
word in German that means "aroma". In English we can say
"roots" or "routes", which are really based in each
other. So "shoes" or "shoos"... Where are we
going? Retamar talks about "our America" (Nuestra America) in
which they refer to what is below the Rio Grande river.
"OUR FATHER". In writing about Pentecost a note says, "the spirit illuminates us, gives us new life, and teaches us to
understand the word (of Jesus) in order to form unity (the Church), the great
family of the children of God".
This is the Mystical Body of Christ!
If our personal lives are complicated, the
roots of nations are even more complicated. Now there is talk of a
"base" on "Mars". In Spanish "mar" means
"ocean" or "sea". So, it will take much thought,
analysis and a good sense of humor to continue! "sea"
what I mean?! Perhaps it is not
necessary to over analyse! After prayer
and contemplation, it is necessary to follow the routes of our hearts, through
love and positive energy. This is the
promised conversion that rebirth exercises!
