AT five years from the death of Padre Hernan Etchepare!

DYING WISH

(On January 26, 2017, five years from the date of the death of Padre Hernan Etchepare, who organized the ¨Café Literario de la Editorial San Pablo¨, I was thinking about him and composing this poem and Elsa, who organized and directed the Café with Padre Hernan called me and asked me what I was presently doing.  Quite a coincidence especially since Elsa hadn´t called me for quite some time before this!!!)

DYING WISH

His wish was unity,

With good and peace for all.

For all beings to be well and free.

For humanity´s growth in spring, summer, even winter and fall!

 The goal was a better world,

Sublime promises for all;

Not wealth, beauty or fame.

To live true liberation, not guilt or blame;

Altruistic feelings albeit;

Desiring a world some call the ¨promised land¨.

The surprise is how we now sing and have formed an energetic band.

His last wish was for his Poets;

That they would still gather, make projects, recite…

Celebrate life, birthdays, and continue to write.
