"POEMS FOR ZOE’S
BIRTHDAY, 2014"!
Zoe means "life" in Greek. From early times it was adopted by Hellenized Jews as a translation of EVE. It was borne by two early Christian saints, one martyred under emperor Hadrian, the other martyred under Diocletian. The name was common in the Byzantine Empire, being borne by a ruling empress of the 11th century. As an English name, Zoe has only been in use since the 19th century. It has generally been more common among Eastern Christians (in various spellings).
LIFE IN A FLASH OF LIGHT!
(Written on March 30, 2014)
While sitting in the park, one of my favorite places,
Contemplating life and all its graces,
The clouds opened, it is a doorway to the sky.
My heart is jumping, you all can wonder why.
The answer lies before, it is clear to see
Making moves, going on, like a rainbow, free.
And it told me something right to my heart.
It spoke to me “Sweety, it is time to start”!
And it held my Soul in a dream of powerful clouds,
Opening to the sky I felt compassion,
