A REASON
(July 22, 2014)
(Finished
August 1, 2014)
I woke up at
3:00 a.m. today and started praying, especially for the situation in the Middle
East and all the horrible things that are happening in the World. Suddenly, I thought of the last two lines to
this poem that was unfinished. Also, I
was thinking about the song my guitar teacher, Luciano, is helping to prepare
to sing (my song “San Cayetano”), that I wrote in the year 2000, which you can
see in my blog!
We plan to
sing it in a future Café Literario de Padre Hernan. It is in English and also translated to
Spanish.
This is
especially for Karla, Jess’s friend, who died recently on July 24th. It is a coincidence that she has the same
name, with the same spelling as mine.
(“Still I
look to see a reason to believe”)
A REASON
Then we
found one.
It was what
we needed.
It left
something,
Where once
we had suffered and bleeded.
The peace
and connection
Found in the
early hours,
Speaks of
positive might, and powers.
And then faith
appeared
With simple,
hopeful, words and song,
Giving vibes
of peace and love…
The nourishment
we had looked for all along!
