I wrote a poem one afternoon and decided to call it "Regina",
thinking in my "Tia" Aunt Regina, (as my son, Angelo, called her),
who was near 100 years old when I wrote this poem.
The name Regina has many meanings and connotations. I was aware of this as a child...

REGINA
The times are against us,
We flounder in lost hope.
Through bitter darkness,
We navigate and grope.
How to unravel...
What's sealed in the Sacred Heart?
Unveil the secrets,
And to the best path depart?
The path is well trodden;
The way is now clear.
The sun re-awakens;
Sunrise is so near!
Yet the soul suffers anguish,
Has taken
its toll...
What price must be paid,
To reach the ultimate goal?
Justice is waiting with her golden scales...
Mercy with Wisdom never fails!
