POEMS ESPECIALLY FOR GRANDCHILDREN No. 4
ENCOUNTER
Somehow, I missed the moment the little girl said, “daddy”, and gave
the man a kiss.
It passed by so quickly.
It was something to miss.
The man kissed the child, and then kissed the mother.
They were three, united together, no other.
The clouds gathered.
The park smelled of an air ready to rain.
The three walked across the park. They disappeared, leaving
me alone, in awe, with a nostalgic pain.
I wanna hold on to every moment.
I wanna taste each bite I eat.
I wanna see what’s before me.
I wanna live, and hear each heart beat.
I wanna try for somethin’ better; make use of each and every
day.
If I could only see what is right before me…
I think it would show me the best way!
