BY-LINGUAL TEXT!!! PARA EL DIA DEL MAESTRO!

TEACHER´S DAY

I think one of my most rewarding memories was when Angelo, my son (I used to say to him, ¨Angelo, I´m not your teacher, first of all I am your mother¨!  Angelo came in on Teacher´s Day one year, gave me a small package, and said ¨Happy Teacher´s Day¨.   Angelo grew up here in Argentina.  He came when he was four years old.  It was difficult to learn English.  We tended to talk in Spanish.  It was also necessary for him to know Spanish; otherwise he could not live in his environment.  I think he is pretty proficient in both languages now, and one proud moment of his childhood was when he brought home 100% for a text-test from his Spanish class.

This poem is especially dedicated to my guitar professor, Luciano Buongiorno!  He is so much younger than me yet he has inspired me and caused me to feel enthused about music!
Teachers are ageless!

TEACHER´S DAY!
What makes me think I have the Word?
I know the way, I´m clear, not blurred?
What wisdom to be known;
What goals to be shown?
I´m a mothe´!
Yes, I´m a mothe´!
Got the news for you.
Got songs to sing, the blues.
Think I know it all.
Stand tall!  Do not fall!
Eat well; wear an appropriate coat!
Don´t stay up too late.
Work hard and do your best.
Leave to destiny to do all the rest!
I´m a mothe´
A mothe´!
Cook you up somethin´ good to share.
Hope you grow up to be healthy and fair.
A mothe´!  A mothe´!
