ASCENSION

August 16, 2016. Celebrated every year
on August 15, the Feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary
commemorates the death of Mary and her bodily assumption into Heaven, before
her body could begin to decay—a foretaste of our own bodily resurrection at the
end of time. Because it signifies the Blessed Virgin's passing into eternal
life, it is the most important of all Marian feasts).
If we go on
just a little bit further.
If we can
make it to the next door.
When we
find a better purpose;
We´ll find
what we´re looking for.
If the day
is dreary and hot;
When the
shadows fall on all we got;
We know to
take some quiet time,
And get our
bearings back
To make us
feel alive
To help
make us feel more alive.
When the
dawn seems to never appear;
All the
wasted feelings falling in a tear;
We pick up
and minimize, letting go of possessions we´ve got;
To carry on
more light,
And revive
the best of something grander we perchance forgot.
