Hope is the thing with wings
That makes possible
Impossible things,
That gives us a thrust
And asks us to trust
Even when things
Seem so dim.

It's what helps us go on
When we feel weak,
Not so strong.

It lifts us up
And fills the cup
And waits for us to drink.

It never gives doubt
Takes over with a shout,
And leaves uncertainty
And sadness completely
                                      out.
