From my files! I gave this to Father Javier when he came to Santisima Cruz. I suggested to him that we were going to Roma (Amor), and finally, he was sent to Italy to a small town near Rome! This poem was also written before the Pope (Benedict XVI named last year as the year of Faith). Signs? Intuition? Feelings!!!
My Kumquat tree is budding and soon we will have fruit from
it. It almost died a few years ago. There was not a leaf on it. I thought it was gone forever, but I moved
the dirt around it and put leftover tea leaves on the ground and slowly but
surely it began to resuscitate! Now it
produces fruit again.

THE POETESS OF SANTISIMA CRUZ
I am the poetess that
turns your words into music;
That from your pain
builds hope,
From your desperation, finds a path,
(Something like finding solutions in math).
That on the barren tree, sees new buddings form;
That sees beyond to the calm within the storm;
That hears the promise from beyond, like something soft and
warm.
It is my job to encourage and inspire.
Thus hopefully producing a Spiritual fire...
I am the poetess, who
is also weak and needing,
That proclaims one thing you have, Faith, for which I am
pleading.
What can I say to a
sad World that no longer has a song?
It is FAITH you lack; FAITH for which you long!
In our weakness, it is what makes us, oh, so strong!
