Poem: "LIKE A BIRD"

FOLLOWING IS A POEM I WROTE ON SEPT. 25, 2005

    LIKE A BIRD

    I am thankful for the promises you give.

    It puts meaning in the lives we live.

    In autumn, springtime, winter, or summer,

    You begin to wake us from our slumber.

    There is a message in all you've said

    That wakes us from a dreary bed.

    "Take on new clothes", you say.

    "I will show you the way".

    We slowly begin to follow.

    A new life to experience similar to that of any swallow.

    And the first step is an open heart.

    With this we can begin our journey

    And thus, with singing in joy, we depart!
