A poem for Paul Wagener's birthday.

MATH QUIZ

(Written on May 10, 2021.  By: Karla Wagener. This poem is for my brother Paul's birthday.  I remember once Paul and his wife, Debby, came to Albuquerque, New Mexico, when I still lived there.  Paul said, ¨I'd go to the Sandia Crest in the tramway if you go¨.  For some reason I said no, even though I really wanted to go.  I don't know why I said no and I thought about this many times.  It was an opportunity I had lost.  Paul is a person who I believe has been very successful in life.  He has reached the Crest!  When I think of Paul I think of a person with a good sense of humor and who is terrifically good in Math.  A good sense of humor is a most privileged quality to have, (and is what real success is all about!) Math has got a good name too, but since I don't plan to build many bridges I leave it to the experts!

What about?

All the things we missed out on?

There must be something left unsaid

or undone?

Patience.

We need patience.

A million, a billion, an eternity

Lay out before our existence -

Calling on us to just simply believe…

And to be pure transmitters

Of all that which goes beyond.

So this song goes out to you

With great awareness, admiration,

and feeling;

You can transmit your knowledge too.

Busting out in song and jubilation.

We can find the resolutions

To life's mysterious equation!
