HAPPY BIRTHDAY, JOHN

 CAMINO AL MILAGRO

(THE ROAD TO MIRACLES)

Sunday, July 26, 2026
12:53 PM

(By: Karla, for my son, John on his birth date)

They never said
It would be easy.
Then again need
We make it be so hard?

Listen to my music.
Hear the profoundness
In my soul.
Listen to deep heartbeats,
Then you'll know
What to do,
How to live,
Where to go.

And what's the most,
You'll know to the core
Precisely, who you are.

Each person is a star!

 The life of stars

My sisters, Mary, Alexis, Penny, me and little Ann about 1964.

Monday, July 20, 2026
3:18 PM

(By: Karla, especially for my sister, Alexis, who I know is having a tough time. And a very happy birthday to my sister, Penny, whose birthday is July 24th)

The world is full of heartbreak,
Don't let your heart be broke.
With age the heart knows
A deeper way to look...

To make sense
Of dark skies,
The eternal life of stars,
And even hurt, but not wars.

Only youth remains unaware
Of the deep heartbreak
Only age can bare...

There is ageless, timeless
Comfort
in a healthy soul!

Un poema-cancion para días lluviosos!

 TEMPESTAD

Tuesday, June 30, 2026
12:23 PM

Marcos 4:35-5:43

(Cancion por Karla)

Bis:
Quien es el
que duerme en la barca,
En medio de esta tempestad?

Maestro, me te importa
Que nos ahogamos?
Llama la calma,
El silencio.
Relax, relax.

Bis:
Calma en la tempestad
Silencio en el tumulto,
Calma en la tempestad,
Relax, relax.

Quien somos
Quienes sueñan despiertos
En medio del dolor y
Tantas penas.
Que podemos ofrecer
Al mundo sufriendo?

Bendiciones,
Un nuevo día e esperanza.

Bis:
Lluvia, de bendiciones,
Revelaciones a los pequeños,
Los que escuchan más allá
De las tormentas o la tempestad,

Quienes escuchan con Fe
La bendición de Dios.

 QUARRY

Friday, July 10, 2026

4:12 PM

(By: Karla)

It was thought in past days
That crafty birds
Followed the wolves
To the strong scent of the prey.

No, no they were aware
Of the places where
The wolves had previously hunted
So they advanced first
To get there share.

Crafty birds, what can we learn
About the body that feeds all?
The prey, the downtrodden,
The weak, victim, target, mark,
All those who fall...

Those who hear the birds
As they close in,
As they squawk and call.

Leaving the legacy of the dead.

Crafty birds, what can we learn
About the quarry that feeds all?

Prey, pray hahaha!

 PRAY

Sunday, July 5, 2026
7:57 PM

(By: Karla, feeling that our prayers are being answered!!)

There is a plan!
Like a flash of light
Through the sky.
Like scavenger birds
Advancing on the prey.
A thief in the night.
Radiance at dawn so bright.

A prayer that has been heard,
Amidst the storms
Of skies dark and blurred.

The gentle yoke pulls on,
Midste the howling wind
As the plan begins,
As the universe spins,
And spins.

A gentle breeze
Leads us on,
Fire-y tongues speak of love,
Oil- like odors, thirst
Call us forth...

To the sacristry.
Adoration.
Blessings.

The birds' intuition
Prospers and flourishes.
They gather.
They gather.

We can only wonder
How they can know...

Where the body is!

ENJOY YOUR DAY 💟!

 TENURE

Sunday, July 5, 2026
8:19 AM

(By: Karla, for Christian Lema)

When I was 40
My Aunt Regina wrote a poem
About being 80, or maybe 84,
Doubling my score.

There was a lady
In church one day
Who had her 84th too
While I was still 48,
Made me feel so new.

When I turned 38
I joked to stay that age
And not add on any more.

Then my daughter
Turned that age
And I laughed
At what time was for.

The best age of course
Was that at 38
And I wondered how 48
Got even better.

Surely, it's a great surprise,
The years go by
And practice and wisdom
Makes each term even better!

There's something said
In aging well
I feel eternity here within,
Something special
Only the aged can tell!

Hahaha! Have a good day!

 See...ds!!!

(By: Karla)

I tossed some seeds
In the empty lot next door,
Threw some pumpkin seeds,
And later threw some more.

In autumn we began to see
Some leaves and flowers...
Then grew the delicious food
That would be ours.

So the hope is that
All my efforts and poetry
Can match or even surpass
the surging forth of seeds
Or even a faithful Rosary!

EL CUERVO

(By: Karla, For Walk In and Cuerva, hahaha)

("Black bird singing in the dead of night".
                      By: The Beatles.)

Oh, see the Raven,
Alongside the corpse.

Surely it's right before thee.
Is it true death sets us free?

That bird is a wily creature.
It can revive the most able teacher...
And illuminate the pious preacher.

Prey, let it lead us on
To an advanced destination...
Watching diligently
Where it goes.
Apprised at all it knows.

This is art, strategic edifice.
Often seems quite so treacherous.
It's a humongous bird
That proficiently sings.
Symbolizes transformation,
Divine messages, and such things!

It walks between heaven
And Earth,
Proclaiming and singing
Of rebirth!

The importance of good humor in tough times!

A FUN POEM

(By: Karla, written on June 26, 2026)

I am truly blessed

To be a poetess,

To lighten up the day

And for our dear world pray.

To unravel an honest story,

Built in hope and glory,

Which leads us to a higher promise,

As did the saints and great

St. Thomas.

I ask simply that you

Believe this magistical grandeur too...

Having had a lifetime of reasons to trust

I know I must...

Think up something new

To instill superb faith in you!

 NOTES

(By: Karla Wagener, English version. - listening to Eduardo Falú).

A song always

lights the way.

Music cures evil.

Pain produces song...

And in joy it is sung.

Only the heart

Hears deeply,

And lets the soul fly

At the sound of the heartfelt notes.

Everything is forgotten,

The majority of all,

Except for that so dear song.

Take notes and follow the plan!!!

LAS NOTAS

(Por: Karla Wagener, escuchando a Eduardo Falu, written on July 4, 2025).

Una cancion

alumbra la senda.

Musica cura al mal.

El dolor produce cancion...

Y la alegria la canta.

El corazon solo sabe

Escuchar,

Y el alma vuela

Por las notas muy sentidas.

De todo se olvida,

La mayoria,

Menos esa cancion.

A NEW CITY, A NEW BE, NUBE, HAJAJA!!!

 HERE, IN THIS CITY

Thursday, June 18, 2026
3:13 PM

(By: Karla, while listening to Obama's speech in Chicago.)

We knew we wanted
To make a difference.

Reaching potential
From the grace of each
Individual story.

Make the building
Of a better city possible.

Making it happen
With resolution,
Affirming a shared
Proclamation.

Within the lineage of
The faithful
Collective souls
Of our City of Wellbeing.

Fulfilling a promise
Sealed in the blessings of universal prosperity.

Built stone by stone;
Confident, albeit,
In this which
WE
Have always known!

Getting the Vote. Passage No. 17

 Passage No. 17

GETTING THE VOTE

Politicians in Rome at the time of Caesar and Cicero got more chances to run for office than ours today.  In most cases the term of office was just a year.  The highest office in the land was for consulship, the equivalent of a PresidencyIn Cicero's day, hopefuls to office behaved as politicians always haveThey made themselves as visible as possible, were charming to all potential votes, and promised everything to everybody.

Cicero's brother wrote a how-to-campaign document in 674 B.C  He wrote that it "requires calling everyone by his name... make it clear you know people's names... practice, get better at it day to day.   Nothing seems to be better for popularity and gaining favor".   Another suggestion he made was to never say no:  "If you make a promise, the matter is not fixed, it's for a future day, and it affects only a few people but, if you say no, you are sure to alienate people right away and a lot of them".

QUESTIONS:

1.  How long was a term of office in Roman times?

2.  What was the highest office called?

3.     What is the highest office comparable with?

4.  How did the young hopefuls behave?

5.  What did Cicero’s brother write about campaigning?

Composición No. 17

 Long-suffering

Friday, April 25, 2025
7:30 PM

(By: Karla Wagener)

We will have our day.
Patience will pay.
The load is heavy,
No nest where to stay.

We continue more strong
In wearisome suffering,
Forebearance all along.

There is a promised reward.
There is evidence of benefits.
There is an aching heart
That still draws out a chart.

To true liberation.

Like sunflowers
When the sun does not shine
Look to each other.

We will have our time.
To reach the peak...
We must climb!

Gone Fishing 🎣

 THE ASSISTANT

Tuesday, June 2, 2026
9:14 AM

We don't need
Huge gatherings
In expensive constructions
Of clamering people lost!

We need consistent
Small groups working
Together, teams,
At all cost.

Instead of demands
In open spaces...

Working quietly,
With peaceful faces.

Groups of twelve
Sounds so perfect.
Sent 2 in 2 so coeffective!

I have waited
To tell about this
Until now
That it seems you are
Open to listen.

In my frailty
I patiently hang on and work,
This scribe, a worm fishing,
Or perhaps a diligent clerk!

Getting the Vote No. 16

5 de Junio, 1999

Composición No. 16

Vote for CONSERVATION OF NATURAL RESOURCES.

Passage No. 16

WATER FROM A BOTTLE

Set into the hillside above Lake Geneva in the little French town of Evian-les-Bains is a place which produces natural mineral water.  It is a very lucrative enterprise.  More than $120 million dollars is earned annually from the liquid flowing through the stainless-steel pipes of the vault at Evian.  It is closed off and protected by a tunnel.  Evian is just one of close to a thousand or more companies that are now bottling water all around the World, (from Iceland to Uruguay, from the Bahamas to Bahrain).

The French drink about 14.5 gallons a year per person.  This is more than any other country.  For most Europeans, the idea of drinking water from a bottle, rather than from the tap, is nothing new.  In the past few years, bottled water has become the fastest-growing beverage in the United States, far outstripping the soaring popularity of wine.

Many claim that mineral water bolsters their health.  Some kinds of water are said to ease indigestion, to work wonders of many types, and to even be miraculous.

QUESTIONS:

1.  Where is Evian-les-Bains located?

2.  What are the pipes at Bains made of?

3.  About how many companies produce mineral water?

4.  What drink is rapidly becoming popular in the United States?

5.  Talk about water resources in the World.
