Poem from "Songs of Deliverance"... "PROMISES"

For Father Antonio's birthday, and near Pentecost, a poem in English and Translated to Spanish!
Para el cumple de Padre Antonio, una poesia.  (Traducida no tiene la misma rima como en el ingles:)

            JUNE 9, 2005
           PROMISES

Even in my pain my heart sings out.
It is a gentle song, not a big shout.

Singing, singing the promises to come.
I pass along the notice to you and some.

Do you still not believe it will happen.
The notice should have you all snappin'

            What is in my heart?
Of me it is a part.

It is promises to be fulfilled.
And what God has surely willed.

 Translation:

            PROMESAS

Poem: "SWEET MERCY"

JUNE 2, 2005
SWEET MERCY
    All my dreams come true
In the mercy that comes from you.

It takes discipline and hard work,
Like that of a very good clerk.

But there is something special that  comes in grace...
It's like finding the perfect place...

    All my dreams coming true,
In the mercy that comes from you!

After reading Psalm 32 "Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered... (etc.), where it says "You shall surround me with songs of deliverance", I decided to write a collection of poems called "Songs of Deliverance".  This is one of them.
Most are in English, some in Spanish.

Poem: "REGINA"

I wrote a poem one afternoon in 2009, and decided to call it "Regina", thinking in my "Tia" Aunt Regina, who was near 100 years old, at that time.  The name Regina has many meanings and connotations.  I was aware of this as a child.  It has always meant a lot to me, and we all love Regina a bunch!

7 JULY, 2009
REGINA
The times are against us,
Floundering in lost hope,
Through bitter darkness,
We navigate and grope...

How to unravel...
What's sealed in the Sacred Heart?
Unveil the secrets,
Towards the best path, we must chart...

The path is well trodden;
The way is now clear.
The sun re-awakens;
Sunrise is so near...

Yet the soul suffers anguish, has taken its toll...
What price must be paid, to reach the ultimate goal?
Justice waits with her golden scales.
Mercy, with wisdom, never fails!

Poem: Thanksgiving Seal!

From my 2007 files:

THANKSGIVING IS ON NOVEMBER 22, 2007, THIS YEAR!

FOR THE OCCASION I WROTE THE FOLLOWING POEM.

It is dedicated especially to Bree Ann, my niece, who has her birthday on November 21.  And to my brother, Todd, nicknamed by my brothers as "Turd".  If we change "happy turkey day" it becomes "happy Turd's day" so...

"HAPPY TURD'S DAY - 2007!

Also, "turd" is expecting his first grandchild any day now so it is also for the new baby.

I vacillated in going to mass the other day, but luckily I went and father Javier (who I nicknamed "yave´") gave me the last two lines of the poem, and his sermon helped me decide on the title!

THANKSGIVING SEAL

I looked up and down in the good book,
To find a way to cure my soul,
And give things a better look...

"The teacher has come and is calling for you"...
(First fruits, an offering of mercy and love,
And the great inheritance so true...)

The spirit uniting and eternal life,
The former gone like a cord,
                                      Cut by a knife.

Soon we find that by living in peace, harmony, and forgiving,
We manifest the best ever thanksgiving.

This all really starts,
When it is all written and sealed...
                                        In all our hearts!
