Poem from "Thanksgiving", called "Just Ice"!

Well, another poem in English.  It comes from a collection of poems and songs I wrote some years ago called "Thanksgiving".  I dedicated the collection to my father, who was a World War II Disabled Veteran, and also a humble and honest bookkeeper.  He taught me to be grateful in life and gave me the example of not complaining about his situation.  I call the title "Just Ice" which is a play on the word "Justice"!

JUST ICE!

Just one little thing do I ask of you.
Just one little thing do I ask.

Justice in the World.
Love in my heart.
Happiness and Trust to start.

Just one little thing do I ask of you.
Just a little, Just a little thing.

For joy in the World.
For peace in my mind.
For a change that's for the better.

Just one little thing,
Just one little thing,
Do I ask, I ask of you...

For a song to sing,
For a reason to live,
For health,
For good company...

For a day like this,
Filled with Love and Joy,
For the simple things in Life.

I got all that I need,
I got everything.

I got hope,
and hands to work.
