A rewritten text from my files! For Pentecost!

ROOTS - ROUTES
(While we're on a crossroad, waiting for another celebration.  I anticipate Pentecost!

My sister, Mary, responded to a mail about "shoes" with something Jesus said, "I am the way, the truth and life.  No one gets to the father except through me".  And thinking about the two books I am reading, one by a German monk, named Anselmo, and another by a Cuban, named Retamar...and considering that my father and Aunt Regina be able to understand this (not to mention the pope!)...

THE MIRACLE MAKER
 Waiting for the miracles...
Not seeing all those great things
That routine and everyday life brings...

Your mischievous, loving smile,
To talk and chat awhile,

The happiness of a gift received,
Power in the faith of all that is believed.

Deep within, a connection,
A positive election,
Soft words spoken sincerely,
A promise understood, oh, so clearly.

Walkin' in the rain...
Sweet consolation for those in great pain...

Holding a child's hand,
Living bountifully from the land...

A song of hope and of love,
A solution with grace,
Seeing eternity in each person's face...
(piano)   waiting for miracles...
 Communion, moments of heaven,
In need, times of bread unleavened...
(piano) Expecting miracles…
In desert, water available in the drought...
In winter cold and stormy
With faith, we faced, and face, what life has brought!

PADRE "NUESTRO" “THE LORD’S PRAYER
This all reminds me of something one of my therapists once asked, “why do you always fall in love with people who are altruistic?"
I believe that many of the people who write or do art are altruistic because the pen (and Art) is often the sword of the non-violent.  There is a need of more altruistic people with so many problems in the World now.  I am proud of my nephew, Jeremy, who has made a documentary about the gas problem, my niece, Bree Anne, who I just received a graduation announcement from.  She has a "bachelor of arts in geography with an emphasis in environmental work".  Also, my son passed his test in pathology, and my daughter, is doing well in her studies.  There are many young people who are striving to make things better!
I believe in humanity.  I believe there are many altruistic people in every country of the world.  Perhaps we need to hear more about these individuals because humanity is a species that imitates.
The other day my husband said to me, "I don't like your God".  I thought about it and since I believe God is greater than humanity or any institution, I realized that my conception of God was very human, limited, and I need to open up to a greater God, and to what God can do!
Altruism gyrates on a fine line at times.  In our attempts to love and please others, abuse or manipulation is not permissible, or that our rights are violated is not correct either.
I believe a daily balancing must take place.  Each situation is particular and it is important to discern these situations.  For this reason, I believe prayer and analysis are so important.  Like Saint Paul, I believe that the Spirit (or what psychologists call the unconscious, the interior, deeper part of us) works and pleads beyond us and that it is necessary to connect with this energy.
Anselmo talks about "roots" and a similar word in German that means "aroma".  In English we can say "roots" or "routes", which are really based in each other.  So "shoes" or "shoos"... Where are we going?  Retamar talks about "our America" (Nuestra America) in which they refer to what is below the Rio Grande river.
"OUR FATHER".  In writing about Pentecost a note says, "the spirit illuminates us, gives us new  life, and teaches us to understand the word (of Jesus) in order to form unity (the Church), the great family of the children of God".  This is the Mystical Body of Christ!
If our personal lives are complicated, the roots of nations are even more complicated.  Now there is talk of a "base" on "Mars".  In Spanish "mar" means "ocean" or "sea".  So, it will take much thought, analysis and a good sense of humor to continue!  "sea"  what I mean?!  Perhaps it is not necessary to over analyse!  After prayer and contemplation, it is necessary to follow the routes of our hearts, through love and positive energy.  This is the promised conversion that rebirth exercises!

A poem I wrote on my daughter's birthday in 2002!

16 October, 2002

 (Psalm 45:)

"MY HEART..."

How do Angels Love,
My Lord?
How do they live?
Do they always Give?

How do Angels fly,
My Lord?
Do they, ever, ever lie?
When do they sleep?
What goods do they need or keep?

Can Angels live
within a Human Heart?
Could you put a spark
Of that Love in me
to put heat in me and help me
continue this new start?

If I perchance have a bit
of Angel within to see.
Can you please forgive
the weak and human part
which in its frailty Loves so much,
Yet is the Most of me.

How can we live well in union
Without Angels to show-
Upon us his love to bestow?

This is the question of my life,
The journey, searching,
Peregrination of my toil:
That somehow, someplace
Exists the Lot of Land
Where childhood promises will grow
Out of that soil.

...And yet the Moon through this darkness
Sheds her pearly glimmerings upon
Your sea-ly observing glaze.

No, no I can move to no other site.
Every weak particle,
(Yeah even that part of me that is still to come),
directs itself towards my real home,
This Cross of Light

Don't create monsters!

CREANDO MONSTROS?

Another poem for Easter 2015!!!

EASTER WEDDING

(April 6, 2014.  It is a coincidence that Andrea and Facundo are getting married on April 6, 2015.
I wrote this poem last year exactly on April 6th, although I added the title just now.  They gave me the Title!)

What were they waiting for?
The prophets, the Holy, the Peacemakers?
What were they working towards?
The poets, songwriters, the scholars?

The truly brave have prudence and patience.
They wait non-violently on God, and weigh their choices;
Look up with a minimum of noises.
They make their moves when graced and blessed.
Sharing their lives, mercy, and all the rest.

Smart enough to recognize their own errors,
Astute enough to Crosses bear.

They believe and realize beyond all odds.
There is a promise yet to be told,
From archives of ages old.
Original, yet unseen, a new Heaven and Earth to behold.

A poem for Pascua (Eastertime) 2015!!!

BACKUP

(March 3, 2015)

(Written while watching the movie “My Own Love Song”).

DEEP PERCEPTION
Caught half of the Moon!

Sharing what I can hear: Angels crying in the sky.
They have all the answers to our efforts as we try,
To experience the light and reason,
Existence beyond time, dimensions, or season.

There is a greater way, and might
That goes beyond our fragile sight.

Come and join the ranks
Of those who benefit, raising their struggles, and thanks.

Come and feel the inner news,
A million shades of starlight, of colors, and blues.

I can SEE the Angels as light in a new existence as we pry,
Opening to bring answers to this mystery as we question why,
And knowing I’m not the only one who senses and hears,
Dreams and Promises to be fulfilled, to calm all tears.

Almost comically, we humbly put on our act,
This quest cannot be done solely or alone,
The support and background scarcely seen, in time will be known!

POEM: "HOPE CHEST"

(For Andrea and Facundo who are getting married on March 6th)

Through the force of water, pulsation of Spirit,
With the dreams of the faithful,
We gather our preparations.

With the care of precision filling it with Love, Good thoughts and well-being,
And with good intentions about the surroundings we’re seeing.
Fill it with care, the purpose of being,
With the intuition and premonition that your heart will be there.

Fill it with honesty and your best feelings.
Put in every important thing, with what perhaps we're not seeing!

Take out what is needed over the years.
Letting out the best held deep within.
Let go of the fears.

Find in there, mother’s most faithful, sincere prayers.
An accumulation of material things, and all the rest.
Desires and hopes in future years with which to be blest!

Carta renovada para Cuaresma de 2008!!!

COMPETENTE AUTORIDAD/22 Marzo, 2008
