MESSAGE FOR CORPUS CHRISTI, 2012. I come from a
family of 10 kids! This is not so common these days! I think this experience is
important to help know how a family "body" can work together. My
father was a humble, honest bookkeeper and this had a huge influence on me.
Since I have always been a very contemplative person, I thought about economy,
goods, distribution, needs, money, material things,
and especially spirituality day and night. I prefer to live on my knees,
praying, than to live violently or aggressively... At this special time I ask
for gentle, clear light, durable joy, that hope flames forth, that faith
sprouts about, and that the desires for better situations bloom everywhere... I
have appreciatively found this in my own small circle of relationships, and
would like to extend it to more ample areas... (to be continued)...
Message from Karla for Corpus
Christi, 2012. It is a contradiction...
people with many riches often lack Spirit and have a need for it. The poor look
to the Spirit to help fill their needs, and this Spirit is really the most essential
part of life. The poor sing and dance after eating a simple meal, thankful for
the little they have. But those who have much, need even more, and must
carefully occupy their efforts in material matters. Few are open to a World
beyond, a World more ample, fulfilling and spontaneous.
Message de Corpus Christi, 2012, by
Karla...I read about a famous person who, when he was young and poor...His
mother had him and his siblings make flowers for her business (I think) of
party favors. He talked about the importance of being active in difficult
times, and to be occupied, so as to think in a positive way and not get
depressed. This is so true! An ex-student of English always used ...to say to
me, "In difficult times it is necessary to make positive actions". And he was always amazed with examples of
persons who, even in disasters, kept their humor, and made advances or jokes.
When there is much corruption or crisis (which comes from bad administration,
not because there is not enough for all), this is when the honest and
altruistic are most rejected! Conflicts, situations of confusion, gossip,
violence and other rejections occur in abundance, but consistency always wins
over... This is the value of the Cross... which does not depend on acquiring
many goods, but rather a solid conviction!
