LOS ABUNDANTES ARBOLES DE BUENOS AIRES

No en todas las ciudades, abundan los árboles, como en Buenos Aires.

Los árboles lucen hermosos en la ciudad, especialmente en otoño, pero a la vez esto puede causar problemas. 

Las hojas caen sobre las calles y muchas veces tapan el sistema de desagüe.

Esto causa inundaciones y hace difícil cruzar las corrientes de agua que se forman.

Nadie se molesta en colocar una tabla de madera en el cordón, de manera que la gente pueda transitar sin problemas y es así como muchos zapatos se han arruinado por esta situación. 

Sin embargo, toda la gente ama a los árboles de Buenos Aires y los protege.  

Pocos árboles son podados y esto se agradece, porque son ellos los que ofrecen sombra en los ardientes veranos.

THE MANY TREES OF BUENOS AIRES

Not all cities have many trees like Buenos Aires does. 

The trees make the City beautiful, especially in the fall, but it can also be a problem. 

The leaves fall into the street and often plug up the drainage system. 

This causes flooding and at times it is difficult to cross rushing streams of water.

No one bothers to place a board at the curb so that people can pass by and many a shoe has been ruined because of this situation. 

Nevertheless, everyone loves the trees of Buenos Aires and they are protected. 

Few trees are cut down and thank goodness because they offer shade in the hot smoldering summers. 

Questions:

 1. Do all cities have many trees like Buenos Aires?

2. What happens when the leaves of the trees plug up the drainage system?

This causes flooding and at times it is difficult to cross rushing streams of water.

3. Do people place boards at the curbs of streets so that passersby can cross the streets?

4. Do people dislike the trees because they cause flooding?

5. Are the trees a buffer to the hot summer sun?
