Composición No. 5 

SENDAS EN LAS LADERAS

 Los caminos corrían a los lados de un arroyo en las laderas de las Montañas Sandia en Nuevo México. 

Después de un picnic, los niños empezaron a correr por las sendas.   

 Algunos iban hacia una dirección. Otros, iban hacia otro lado.

Era como encontrar un camino en la vida.

Cada senda conducía a un destino diferente.

Una, conducía a un puente viejo.

Otra, conducía a los campitos de picnic, en donde había mesas, utensilios para cocinar y servicios para la comodidad de las excursionistas.  

 Algunos caminos precarios, conducían al arroyo.

Los niños reían, corrían y se liberaban su imaginación.

¡Ah, sí, ellos comieron panchos y hamburguesas ese día!

Passage No. 5 –

PATHS IN THE FOOTHILLS

The paths ran along the sides of a creek in the foothills of the Sandia Mountains in New Mexico.

After a picnic the children began to run on the paths. Some went one way. Others went the other way.

It was like finding a way through life.

Each path led to a different destination.

One went to an old bridge.

Another went back to the picnic grounds where there were tables, cookout fixtures and outdoor-type toilets for the convenience of the picnickers.

Some precarious paths led down to the creek.

The children laughed and ran and their imagination was freed.

Ah, yes, they ate hot dogs and hamburgers that day.
